Swiss E-606 Transistor Multi-Band Radio

Wowee…! Biennophone, by Velectra sa Bienne. One of the more spectacular finds, in our recent, illustrious history. Seemingly brand-spanking-new, Swiss-made in the late ‘60’s, for their Army, multi-band, portable radio. Six bands; from TR to UKW (FM)150 - 350 kHz (1÷6), to 87.6 – 104 Mhz, and everything in between. Comes with an additional huge long antenna for short-wave, along with the self-contained, telescoping unit. Has earphones, power cord (220 Vac) which you could easily convert, or run it on a couple of 4.5 Vdc wallet batteries (available on our website). You may even connect this to a tape deck as a sound amplifier! Our guess is that even the stolid Swiss need some tunes in their foxholes… The unit comes in a beautiful solid wood case with heavy iron hardware. The radio compartment is felt-lined..! Instruction booklet is in German & French, earphones, antenna, power cord etc., all contained therein. measures 12.75” x 8.25” x 4”, 8 lbs 5.2 oz (w/o batts); the case 14.75” x 10.5” x 12”, 20.5 lbs
