A teacher and an illustrator for the nation's most wide-read periodicals and dozens of paperback novels, he was perhaps best known for his marine portraits.  Stanley Meltzoff's works are pure Americana and some of his works hang in \u003cstrong\u003eThe National Gallery\u003c\/strong\u003e and the \u003cstrong\u003eGetty Museum\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis painting,\u003cstrong\u003e The Day After Tomorrow\u003c\/strong\u003e graced the cover of a \u003cstrong\u003eRobert Heinlein\u003c\/strong\u003e novel of the same name which was released in September of 1951. It is unrelated with the climate doomsday movie of the same name from 2004. Originally, this novel was call Sixth Column on it's 1949 hardcover release but was originally published across 3 editions of Astounding Science Fiction between January and March of 1941 under the pseudonym Anson Macdonald.  I\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003et tells the story of a small group of military and scientific survivors in a secret Rocky Mountain base who mount an asymmetric resistance after the United States is conquered by an Asian alliance.
