The Candlelier Lantern uses three long-burning candles, a wind-protective glass chimney, and a spring-loaded base to provide off-grid light with a small amount of usable heat.
Its powder-coated aluminum frame resists ordinary scratches and chips, while viewing slots in the glass chimney shield the flames without hiding them. Each compatible nine-hour candle can burn for up to nine hours; the lantern also accepts 12-hour beeswax candles. Candles are not included.
At eight inches tall and four inches wide, the lantern is compact enough for a camp table or emergency shelf. In addition to lighting a tent, cabin, or room during an outage, the heat from the candles can warm small amounts of food or liquid when used with proper care.
