Ford TriMotor Goose | Authentic Aviation Collectible
The Ford TriMotor “Tin Goose” model represents the corrugated-aluminum aircraft that helped make reliable airline travel practical between the wars. The original used corrugated aluminum for the fuselage and even the control surfaces, with external control wires and engine gauges visible to the pilot through the windscreens.
Ford built 199 TriMotors from 1926 through 1933, and more than 100 airlines operated them. A Tin Goose named Floyd Bennett carried Admiral Richard E. Byrd and his crew on the first flight over the South Pole on November 27–28, 1929.
This display measures 40.5 inches across the wings and 27.25 inches long, a scale that does justice to the broad wing and three-engine layout. The generous span makes it a centerpiece rather than a background miniature.
