Long before shipboard radios, the boatswain’s call carried orders above the wind, sea, and general commotion of a working deck. Its pitch could be varied to convey different signals, and its distinctive shape has remained largely unchanged since medieval times.
This decorative brass reproduction has a silver-colored finish, engraved ornament, brass-tone anchor medallions, and a ring for attaching a lanyard. It is supplied in the printed wooden presentation box shown—ready for a desk, shelf, maritime collection, or suitably nautical gift.
